DENTAL CROWNS

What is a Dental Crown?

A dental crown is a durable restoration that is meant to strengthen the integrity of a tooth. If a tooth has broken, cracked, fractured or has recently had a root canal, a dental crown is designed to restructure the tooth to make it more resilient. Dental crowns are meant to last for many years before needing full replacement. We are dedicated to providing you with a high-quality dental crown in a warm, welcoming environment.

Why might you need Dental Crowns?

You may need a dental crown because one or more of your teeth have been compromised. This may be due to having had a root canal or if a tooth has broken, cracked or fractured. In teeth with very large fillings, a crown may help to prevent the filling from cracking the enamel and causing the need for an extraction. Dental crowns are designed to feel and look like real teeth.

We are dedicated to providing you with a high-quality dental crown in a warm, welcoming environment.

What makes you a candidate for a Dental Crown?

Before having a dental crown placed, you’ll need to come in for a consultation and exam with our doctors. The exam will check for signs of decay as well as to check for signs of breaks, cracks and fractures. If you will benefit from a crown, you’ll be scheduled to come back in to have one placed. Dental crowns are essential for improving the look of your smile.

What can you expect concerning the procedure for a Dental Crown?

The first step to the dental crown procedure is applying anesthetic to the area. The tooth will then be filed down to make room for the crown. Impressions are made to create both a temporary as well as a permanent crown. You will be sent home the same day with a temporary crown. You will then need to come back in to have the permanent crown placed. With proper care and oral hygiene, you can expect your crown to last for many years.

If you want or need a dental crown, we are here to take your call and schedule an appointment for you to come in.
